More Time Can Help Maximize Financial Aid for College Students

Thanks to a change in the opening date to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students can get a three-month head start on the process starting October 1for student aid for the 2017 鈥� 2018 school year. Additionally, applicants will now be using prior tax year (2015) data that can be retrieved directly from the IRS, allowing for earlier completion of the FAFSA which may expand their options for funding higher education.聽
鈥淲ith early access to the FAFSA, students and parents are encouraged to complete the process this fall to help make informed decisions about which schools represent the best combination of net cost and overall fit to meet their academic goals,鈥� said Amber McCown, Director of Admissions, Florida SouthWestern State College (天涯社区).聽 鈥溙煅纳缜� has resources in Admissions and Financial Aid to help individuals start their educational journey.鈥�
