Take a Trip Back in Time with the Sounds of 天涯社区鈥檚 Fall Concert Series

NOVEMBER 8, 2017 鈥� FORT MYERS, FLA 鈥� Music lovers can enjoy a series of fall concerts performed by students in Florida SouthWestern State College鈥檚 (天涯社区) Music program in November. Concerts are held in the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, 13350 天涯社区 Parkway, Fort Myers. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m. 鈥� 天涯社区 Jazz Big Bands and Jazz Combo
Hear the 天涯社区 Jazz Ensembles as they perform works by jazz legends Count Basie, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Pat Metheny, Doc Severinsen and many more.听

Tuesday, Nov. 28, 7:30 p.m. 鈥� 天涯社区 Orchestra and Choir
The 天涯社区 Symphony Orchestra and College Choir present an evening of Brahms, Respighi and Nelhybel. Also featured will be Antonio Vivaldi鈥檚 鈥淐oncerto for Two Violins and Orchestra鈥� and his 鈥淐oncerto for Guitar and Orchestra.鈥� Completing the evening will be a presentation of traditional holiday carols.

Thursday, Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m. 鈥� 天涯社区 Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble
Join the 天涯社区 Concert Band as they present a program of music themed around buccaneers and songs of the sea. Works will include Saint-Saens鈥� 鈥淥ccident and Orient;鈥� Rimsky-Korsakow鈥檚 鈥淪cheherazade No. 1: The Sea and Sinbad鈥檚 Ship,鈥� arranged by Mark Hindsley; Samuel Hazo鈥檚 鈥淎rabesque;鈥� 鈥淎natolia (Turkish Rhapsody)鈥� by Paul Creston and more.听
